A few weeks ago I shared this picture from my childhood on Instagram and asked if you wanted to learn more about my story.
Well, it was a clear yes from you! So, untraditional to my typical topics, I’m sharing my journey to Studio 3.
Art has always been a big part of who I am. As a little girl, my hands were constantly marker-stained, weekends were dedicated to pottery classes, and I would get lost in the aesthetic details of school projects. I left my high school after grade 10 to pursue art more seriously. In university I was the second year class of a new creative advertising degree program at Humber. I may have learned the foundation of art and design in high school but it was the strategy, conceptual and business components I fell in love with at Humber. I found my purpose in art for function. My internship was at a small brand studio, where my fate for branding was sealed. I briefly worked as an jr. art director in advertising but ultimately my heart was in branding. I spent the next 6 years working on all things branding for a mid-size Toronto architect firm. There I learned how to navigate tight deadlines and hone my business professionalism.
With a passion for branding and a love for the charm and enthusiasm of small local businesses, Studio 3 was conceived.
Today I feel so fortunate to work with local Toronto brands that are as devoted to their businesses as I am to branding. There is no greater excitement than seeing a project actualized…except maybe starting.
